About the Kingfish
Steve Morgan and the Kingfish have been a mainstay of the blues and roots rock scene on Cape Cod since the band's first gig Nov. 7, 1992. The current lineup includes Steve, guitar and vocals, James Petcoff, bass and vocals, drummer Ed Wanamaker, and last but certainly not least, Bryant Edwards on congas ands vocals.
The Kingfish also feature, time and space permitting, a horn section which may include John Wolf, trombone, Dan Sullivan, sax, Paul Dinsmore, trumpet, and Karl Hoyt, cornet.
Top notch vocals and harmonies, a powerful horn section and great tunes make the current lineup of the Kingfish a hugely dynamic and soulful group .
The "Boppin' the Blues" CD features Steve, Tony Kahn, the original Kingfish bassist, and Steve Robinson who joined the band around 1995, on drums. The late great Peter Noyes who played harmonica with the band from the beginning until 1996 or so is also heard on this CD. This CD, recorded in 1996, is a snapshot of the band at the top of its form.
